Speculation about the new Cabinet

A barrage of problems including the controversial rice-pledging scheme are pushing Prime Minister to reshuffle her Cabinet for the fourth time as she tries to revamp the fortunes of the Pheu Thai-led government.

This debacle is believed to be the main reason behind Yingluck's decision to change her Cabinet ahead of the planned reshuffle in August - when the government marks two years of its existence.

She is hoping her new Cabinet will boost her government's image because most of the ministers will be new faces with clean reputations.

It is expected that Commerce Minister Boonsong Teriyapirom and Science Minister Woravat Auapinyakul will lose their portfolios.

Woravat might lose his job for reportedly interfering in the budgeting for the National Science and Technology Development Agency, which led to protests from the staff.

It is hoped that the new Cabinet will be better equipped to salvage the current political impasse and deal more effectively with problems the coalition government may potentially face.

With so many changes ahead, The Nation decided to seek comments via Facebook, Twitter and Google Plus about the reported reshuffle, and who people want and don't want.

Here are some comments:

On Facebook, Sumanee Kai, Piyawan Anan, and Surisa Srikunsab said they wanted each and every minister replaced, while Suntiwong Pitukkosol and KakiPure Kakiju said they wanted a new premier.

Oweera Chearanaipanit wants Somkid Jatusripitak to be given the deputy prime minister's post or given the Commerce portfolio, and wants Chaturon Chaisang to oversee the Education Ministry. Both were among the 111 politicians banned for five years when the Thai Rak Thai party was dissolved.

Songkram Kingklang said he wanted Deputy Commerce Minister Natthawut Saikua out because he his thought process was illogical, while Virach Sornlertlmvanich said it might be a good idea to look outside for qualified people for the Cabinet, instead of opting for politicians or people linked to them.

Komson Kaemthong said that though many ministers deserved to lose their jobs, it would be difficult for the government to find qualified people. After all, the 111 banned politicians proved to have no special abilities, but if they wanted to help the country, they should join the electoral race like others.

Samana Peingbangyang wants Science Minister Woravat Auapinyakul out and Bhokin Bhalakula, a former banned politician, brought back. Looksue No 9 said he wants the culture minister to be changed.

Google Plus users, Bhatchapol Pothong and Somporn Fisher said they wanted the entire Cabinet to be changed. Chaimchit Charoenkhun also wants Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra to be replaced, while Boonsomswi Salabsee said it was far too

difficult to have a transparent government as long as there is cheating in local elections at every level.

In Twitter, @AllForAimK wants Chalerm Yoobamrung, Plodprasop Suraswadi and Nattawut Saikua out, while @issarar wants a new prime minister.
