Evergreen sprint queen Neeranuch Klomdee added more medals to her collection on Sunday with impressive runs in the third leg of the Asian Grand Prix Athletics Series, in Sri Lanka.

The 33-year-old sprinter, part of the awesome foursome that won 4x100m relay gold in the 2010 Guangzhou Asian Games, claimed bronze in the 100m at a star-studded meet in Colombo, but helped Thailand top the relay podium.

The 100m saw Kazakhstan's Viktoria Zyabikina clinch gold in 11.69s, with Guzel Khubbieva of Uzbekistan just 0.01s behind, followed by Neeranuch in 11.90s.

The Suphan Buri-born sprinter, who has hoarded gold from relays in the SEA Games, Asian Games and Asian Championships, also strengthened the Thai quartet featuring speedster Phatsorn Jaksunilkorn and Tassaporn Wannakij to cross the line first in a below-par 45.33s - a far cry from their gold-winning 45.11s in the first leg at Thammasat Rangsit on May 4.

Closest rivals China finished second in 45.41s, with hosts Sri Lanka (46.21s) third.

As expected, China made amends by clinching gold in the men's 4x100m relay in 39.63s. Taiwan and Hong Kong clocked 39.89s and 39.91s respectively for second and third, while former Asian champs Thailand disappointed with fourth place in 39.97s.

Thailand added a silver in the men's 110m hurdles, though Jamras Rittidet (13.82s) missed out on gold by just 0.01s, trailing India's Thingalaya Siddhanth.

The women's race saw Oman's Al Harthi Barakat win a photo-finish decision against China's Guo Fan after they ran 10.45s. Taiwan's Chen Yi Wei clocked 10.59s for bronze.

India reigned in Colombo, taking the lion's share of 12 medals including five gold and two silver. China were second in the standings with four golds, six silvers and one bronze.

After the third leg, Thailand have a total of two golds, five silvers and six bronzes.

Despite the success, Thai relay quartets did not make the cut for the Moscow-hosted IAAF World Championship from August 10 to 18, having failed to meet the required standard of 39.20s in the men's and 44.00s in the women's event.
