A Bt100,000 reward will be offered for information on the hiding place of a couple charged with detaining and torturing a 12-year-old Karen girl after they failed to report by yesterday's deadline, police said.

"We will forfeit their bond and seek arrest warrants for them," said Pol Colonel Akkasorn Srisupat, superintendent of Muang Kamphaeng Phet Police Station.

Natee Taeng-orn, 35, and Rattanakorn Piyaworatham, 33, had been released on bail.

A source said Pol Lt-General Wanchai Thanadkij, commissioner of Provincial Police Region 6, had ordered a manhunt for the pair.

The badly burned victim, who is now at a state children's home in Kamphaeng Phet, is socialising well with others but still shudders at the sight of hot things.

During her years of enslavement, she was forced to do housework and when her alleged attackers got frustrated with her, they poured hot water over her body, badly scarring her.
