5 arrested with 1m yaba pills in Lampang

Narcotics suppression police on Saturday night arrested five suspects and seized one million methamphetamine pills at a checkpoint in Lampang province.


One of the suspects, Sompote Khieocha-oum, 31, of Chiang Rai's Mae Suay district, was arrested when a pick-up he was driving from Ban Mu Mong Phai in Chiang Mai's Fang district was stopped for a search at the checkpoint on Lampang - Tak road in Lampang's Muang district at 8.50pm.


One million speed pills were found hidden in the vehicle.


From the questioning of Sompote, police arrested four other suspects in Chiang Mai.
