BANGKOK, 9 January 2013 (NNT) â" The Cabinet has approved a set of measures to help SME businesses cope with the impact of the new daily minimum wage policy.
Government spokesman Tossaporn Serirak said on Tuesday that the weekly Cabinet meeting resolved to approve special measures to tackle the negative impact of the 300-baht daily minimum wage policy, which was made effective across Thailand on January 1st, 2013.
Mr. Tossaporn said that 16 measures have been approved to ease such effects and to help small and medium enterprises (SME) develop themselves.
He added that these measures, as proposed by the Labor Ministry, have been designed to help business operators obtain bigger credit limits, lower costs and improve workersâ skills.
In addition, the Finance Ministry has proposed to the Cabinet to consider the extension of the tax incentives for affected entrepreneurs, originally planned to expire since the end of 2012, to the end of 2013.
