The commander of the First Naval Area Command, Vice Admiral Roongsak Sereeswad, will preside over Tuesday's opening of the Preservation and Development of the Marine Environment project to beautify the coast of Koh Kham.
The chief of the Civil Affairs Division of the First Naval Area Command, Captain Chumnan Puangpet, said the purpose of the project is to develop the marine environment and landscape in ways that encourage people to preserve the natural environment. Activities will include growing coral and cleaning the beaches and sea beds. Among the project's supporters from the private and government sectors are 300 people from Viny Thai, IRPC, Grow Energy, Chevron Thailand Exploration and Production Public Company Limited, AC Diving, Burapha University Chanthaburi and Kasetsart University's Si Racha Campus.
