A tunnel of colourful LED lights will decorate the Ratchaprasong area during the festive season, and is expected to attract 16 million tourists and Bt1.3 billion in revenues to the city, the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration announced Tuesday.
Manit Techaapichoke, BMA deputy permanent secretary, said the festival of light will run from Saturday December 1 to January 12, with the LED lights festooning the road, the BTS Skywalk and pedestrian overpasses in the area around the Gaysorn shopping centre.
The tunnel of light, will be turned on nightly from 5.30 to 11.30 except on New Year's Eve, when the lights will stay on until 2am.
