PM to visit Japan May 22-25

BANGKOK, 21 May 2013 – Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra is due to visit Japan from May 21-25 to attend an international conference and to discuss bilateral relations with her Japanese counterpart.

Ms Yingluck will deliver a keynote address to Japanese business leaders on the development of Dawei Special Economic Zone on Wednesday before meeting Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and Japanese Crown Prince Naruhito the next day.


She is expected to discuss with Prime Minister Abe ways to strengthen the bilateral relationship and to raise investor confidence in using Thailand as a production base.


The premier will attend the 19th Future of Asia conference, co-hosted by Nekkei and Japan's Center for Economic Research, on the topic "Investing in the Future of Asia" on May 24. She is scheduled to visit Japan̢۪s elderly care projects on Saturday before returning to Thailand.
