Ms Yingluck instructed PM’s Office Minister Niwatthamrong Boonsongphaisarn to oversee the government’s public relations in the restive South and update the meeting on progress periodically.

Furthermore, the PM ordered security units in the Deep South to step up their roles in an effort to ensure safety for students and teachers when schools reopen later this month.

Regarding three bombings in Pattani on Thursday, Lt. Gen. Pharadorn said officers were investigating the incidents. Initially, it is believed that the violence was meant to agitate the government.
