Legends at Centara Grand Mirage Beach Resort

The Mechai Viravaidya Foundation will be the first charity to benefit from next month's Legacy of Legends-Manchester United Legends—a black-tie affair and sports events tour in Bangkok and Pattaya.

Founded by long-term Thai residents Kevin Fisher and Peter Banner, Legacy of Legends is an event promoter that helps non-profit groups generate contributions.

"We have appointed Manchester United Legends as the celebrity ambassador of the organization's first charity event as the soccer legend is well-known for his charitable efforts worldwide," said Fisher, CEO. He announced that the Mechai Viravaidya Foundation has been selected as the first non-profit charitable organization to benefit from this event. Foundation founder Mechai Viravaidya reflected, "There is no government in the world that can do all or provide adequately everything for its people, especially in education. The country needs the help of others, in particular businesses, which have achieved success. Profitable companies must share some of their profit to help make society a better place. The government can encourage such endeavors by providing tax incentives for donations from the private sector to education, where they can deduct from their tax double the amount they donate."

The Legacy of Legends – Manchester United Legends Tour with Andy Cole – Lee Sharpe – Denis Irwin – Clayton Blackmore will consist of dinners in Bangkok June 6 at the Plaza Athénée Bangkok, a Royal Méridien Hotel, and in Pattaya June 8 at the Centara Grand Mirage Beach Resort Pattaya. The charity golf tournaments are set for June 7 at the Riverside Golf Course, Bangkok, and June 10 at the Phoenix Golf Country Club, Pattaya.

The five-course dinner (25,000 baht table of 10) features free flow wine and beer, a power talk by Manchester United Legends, a motivational speech by Mechai, and live music and entertaining. The evening ends with a celebrity charity auction.

The charity golf tournaments (20,000 baht per team of 4) feature shotgun golf in the afternoon, the opportunity to play with Manchester United Legends, and a social dinner buffet with free flow wine and beer.
