Our children will pay for this folly

As a fellow Chiang Rai resident, I have to agree with Nai Amphoe's letter in Sunday's Nation. The Bt2.2-trillion (ballooning to Bt5.5 trillion) boondoggle is wrong for the reasons he mentioned and for many other reasons as well. The whole thing stinks like rotten fruit.

I would say the onus falls on the "sheeple" who were hoodwinked and/or paid to vote for Thaksin and his proxies - yet it's bigger than that.

It will be the kids and grandkids of all Thais living today who will be required to pay back those ridiculous loans.
