BANGKOK, 18 April 2013 (NNT) รข" Gold Traders Association of Thailand Secretary General Pitcha Pisuthikul expects the current drop in gold prices to be temporary due to various factors, suggesting investors should not empty their stock of gold at the moment.
Mr Pitcha was referring to the case of gold prices dipping by about 2,000 baht per one-baht weight on Wednesday.
He said the main reasons behind the price fluctuations included reports on Cyprus, Spain and Italy selling their gold and the recent Boston bombings in the U.S., all of which were beyond expectations.
He however said that the price drop should be short lived, and those who have purchased gold should hold on to their gold for the moment, in order to make profits in the future.
He also said that traders should observe international situation on a daily basis, adding that it might take a couple of days to see a clear direction of gold investment.
Mr. Pitcha said that it is safe to make a purchase, while reminding traders that quality gold should weigh at least 15.2 grams per one-baht gold.
