Govt invites members of public to visit Thailand 2020

BANGKOK, 10 MARCH 2013 (NNT) â€" Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra has invited the general public to visit a special exhibition, in which all details of the government’s 2-trillion-baht infrastructure investment project will be made available to help all understand what are being planned for Thailand.

During the weekly “PM Yingluck Government Meets the People” TV program, the Prime Minister extended an invitation to the public to the exhibition "Thailand 2020: Thailand’s new step to connect the World Expo", held at the Government Complex Commemorating HM the King’s 80th Birthday Anniversary in Chaeng Wattana area of Bangkok.


At the exhibition, visitors will be provided with information of all projects, including the dual-track railway project and high-speed train systems.


Meanwhile, Transport Minister Chadchart Sittipunt said that the 2-trillion-baht megaprojects will create new opportunities for the country and Thai people.


He reiterated that the investment plan will increase the country’s GDP by 1 %, create about 500,000 jobs and generate return of 279 billion baht per year.


The Thailand 2020 expo is currently underway until March 12.
