Not unusual in Western cuisineNot unusual in Western cuisine

While I can understand why consumers in Europe felt cheated when they found horsemeat in certain brands of frozen lasagne - it was supposed to contain beef and pork - I would like to point out that horsemeat is not an unusual ingredient in Western cuisine.

For instance, salami, which is a very common Western food on its own or as a pizza topping, often contains horsemeat, or at least the imported ones do. Just drop by Foodland or Villa and look at the ingredient labels. Wikipedia has more information.
