BANGKOK, 22 February 2013 – The Meteorological Department warned residents in the North and South of Thailand to brace for heavy rains during the next few days.
The weather bureau said that a high pressure cell from China is covering the Northeast, bringing thunder showers and strong winds. The temperature is also expected to drop by 3-5 degrees Celsius during February 21-23.
A depression which is set to make landfall near Malaysia will enhance monsoon rains over the South of Thailand, bringing more thunderstorms and rainshowers between February 23-25.
Strong wind-generated waves of up to 3 meters can be expected in the Gulf of Thailand. All ships should proceed with caution.
