Bangkok Dave's analysis of desert politics is spot-on - he truly does understand the lie of the land. No more the "Land of Smiles" since the coming of Thaksin in 2001. It's time for a more contemporary marketing ruse, one more appropriate to the nation's current "rice dune" era. How about "Thai fabric-ation - smooth as sand" or "Thailand - an oasis of hanky panky" or "Dubai: Yi sip, yi sip"?
