The Sofitel Bangkok Sukhumvit is hosting "BB Forever Art Exhibition" which celebrates the life of famous French actress Brigitte Bardot.

BBForever Art Exhibition is on at L'Appart restaurant, 32nd floor of the Sofitel Bangkok Sukhumvit from today until April 10. The grand opening and cocktail reception is today from 6.30-8.30pm. For more information, call 02-126-9999 or email H5213-FB2@sofitel.com.

It follows the success of "BB Forever _ Brigitte Bardot, la legende" series of photo exhibitions held last year at Sofitel hotels in New York, Chicago, Washington and Los Angeles.

Bangkok is the first city in Asia to host this exhibition dedicated to the legendary actress. From Bangkok it will travel to seven other Asian cities _ Beijing, Guangzhou, Chongqing, Macau, Manila, Mumbai and Saigon.

On display is an exclusive collection of close to 30 photos that trace the star-lit career of Bardot _ a leading feminine figure from the 1950s to 1970s, an actress of international repute, as well as a muse for many artists of the period.

A femme fatale and cuddly like a baby doll at the same time, she worked with renowned filmmakers of her time, embodying lightness and sensuality through the characters she played, and quickly became a sex symbol _ a French Marilyn Monroe.

With 48 films in a 21-year acting career to her credit, Bardot, also known by the initials BB, is one of the most famous French artists in the world.

She ended her acting career in 1973 to devote herself to animal rights, notably in establishing the Brigitte Bardot Foundation.

Through never-before-seen snapshots, visitors can admire the different facets of the actress who, throughout her career, distinguished herself through her beauty, spontaneity and carefree spirit, and whose personality led her to be regarded not only as a legend and sex symbol, but also as the embodiment of women's liberation.

The exhibition was conceived in collaboration with French journalist and writer Henry-Jean Servat, who has published over 35 works on cinema, actors and history through France's most recognised publishers. He is also the co-director of documentaries on film.
