PSV Eindhoven displayed their expected superiority to tame Thailand League champion Muangthong United 2-0 in their friendly match at the packed 17,000 SCG Stadium in Munag Thong Thani on Tuesday.
Despite incessant choir from thousands of Muangthong United FC fans, the local side was kept at bay most of the time by the swift play and speed of the 21-time Eredivisie champion who arrived the capital in full squad except the sick Mark van Bommel.
After 25 minutes, PSV, currently leading on the Dutch League table at half stage, gained the upper-hand first through Memphis Depay's master-class spin freekick that flew over local goal keeper Umarin Yaodam to find the net.
Muangthong's only best chance came five minutes after the intermission by an 18-yard attempt from striker Teerasil Dangda but it was superbly denied by Przemyslaw Tyton.
In the 85 th minute, the Peasants extended the lead to 2-0 after Jurgen Locadia's kick found the net, dampening the spirits of the local team fans.
