Thai forward Teerasil Dangda, on Saturday, was still trying to get to the grips of intense training at Atletico Madrid as the Muang Thong United player continued his two-week trial at the Spanish football club.

On the eve of Atletico's La Liga clash at home to Real Zaragoza, the 24-year-old started his second day of training with the first-team squad by working out in the gym for half an hour before jogging around the pitch alternating with short sprint sessions.

He was also called in to join the rest of Atletico first-team members when Argentine coach Diego Simeone briefed his squad ahead of the Zaragoza fixture at Vicente Calderon stadium last night.

"I feel very good even though I did not have much time to train with other Atletico first team players today. I understood it. It's just normal thing because the team have a game tomorrow. I would do the same if I was a coach.

"I don't want to think too far ahead [signing a contract with Atletico]. I just want to do my best in training each day," said Teerasil, whose 24 goals last season propelled Muang Thong to their third league title in four years.

The 24-year-old Teerasil, whose trial was arranged as a collaborative deal between the two partner clubs, said he had begun to adapt to life in Spain.

"I have started adjusting myself to the new surroundings here. The breathing got better. I still have problem in communicating with other players, though. However, I now can understand a simple order from the coaches," said the player, who five years ago endured an ill-fated brief stint with English club Manchester City.

Flamboyant coach Simeone, in his second season in charge of Atletico, told Siam Sport reporters based in Spain that he hoped Teerasil would be able to improve his language skills soon because communication was the key for a team with many nationalities.
