BANGKOK, 9 January 2013 – Government chief whip Udomdej Rattanasatian resigned from his position today, citing health problems.
Mr Udomdej denied claims by some that the move was in connection with his support for Khunying Sudarat Keyuraphan to run as a gubernatorial candidate for the Pheu Thai party. He insisted that his resignation had become effective since November 28 of last year.
He said further that his Coronary heart disease prevents him from performing his duties to the best of his ability.
However, he will continue to play a minor role in his party, added the former chief whip.
