BANGKOK, 23 January 2013 – French Prime Minister Jean-Marc Ayrault is scheduled to visit Thailand during February 4-5 as a guest of the Thai government.
In response to Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatraâs invitation, the French premier will pay an official visit to Thailand. This will be the first time in seven years that a French leader has visited the kingdom.
The meeting will mark the long-standing relations between Thailand and France, and support their strategic partnership agreement initiated in 2004.
The French visit follows Ms Yingluckâs earlier visit to France, which was aimed at strengthening economic cooperation, creating growth, and encouraging more employment between the two nations.
The two premiers will meet on February 5th to discuss cooperation in infrastructure development, study and research, and alternative energy. The establishment of the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) and regional Mekong connectivity will also be focused on.
