Slick on the sand

Karen Beach, Phuket ends 2012 in style with the Phuket Electronic Music and Dance Festival on December 30 and 31.

The two-day festival will showcase an exciting line up of more than 30 local and international DJs. Among the Thai DJs manning the decks are J Monton and Dome Pakorn Lam, Mark Brain, Slick and Domination, winner of the Best Video DJ of the World contest in Dubai 2011. This is also the first time that more than 10 top clubs in Phuket are participating in the festival.

Rocking with the cowboys

Head up to Nakhon Ratchasima over December 20 to 23 and enjoy a showcase of animal husbandry, corn and dairy farms, flowers plus live music from the cowboys at the Pak Chong Agricultural Show. It takes place at the National Millet and Corn Research Centre. Pak Chong is about three hour's drive from Bangkok. Call (044) 213 030.

Generous support for Thai kids

The Airbus Corporate Foundation and Thai Airways International (THAI) transported medical equipment and supplies aboard the delivery flight of THAI's second A380, which arrived in Bangkok last week. In addition to the medical equipment, the Airbus Foundation also provided a monetary donation of 50,000 Euros (Bt2 million) to the Thai Red Cross as a contribution towards its children's home in Bangkok.

Pop in the park

Chaophya Music in the Park returns for another cool season with a show featuring Pop Calories Blah Blah, Friday, Ra Ong Fong and lots of other popular artists. It takes place in Chaophya Hospital's recreational area this Saturday from 4.30 to 9pm. Find out more at www.ChaoPhya.com.
