The cremation ceremony for Sathien Taptim, the father of Nation editor Tulsathit Taptim, will be held at Lard Prao Temple on Sunday, December 16, 2012 at 3pm. Funeral rites are being held from Tuesday, December 11 to Saturday, December 15 at Sala 3 of the same temple, from 7 to 7.45pm.

Sathien provided the voice-over for several foreign movies in the 1950s, '60s and '70s. In the 1970s, he founded the "Artists for Fellow Artists" Group, which documented the work and lives of late movie stars, singers and selected other artists. The foundation, which was also known for its annual solicited contribution to the Monk Hospital, was active for three decades until Sathien's declining health forced him to stop his work a few years ago. He passed away on Tuesday, December 11, at the age of 89. He is survived by three children.
