Telecom industry needs investigating

I am very happy with the steps being taken by the SEC. I hope these steps are a means to reduce corruption, not a move to hinder the freedom of the press.

When will they also look into the telecommunications industry - DTAC, AIS and True? These telecom companies have been increasing the value of their stocks by telling customers that the products they are selling will give them 3G capabilities. Now we find out all of it has been a marketing ploy that is false. The customer has been paying a lot of money for non-existent services.

The 3G service, according to MCOT, is not available in Thailand and the licences for the 3G service are non-existent and will not be available for at least six months. When will the counter-corruption police start the investigation?

The World Bank, International Money Fund and US Treasury Department have put Thailand on the watch list for money laundering and corruption. It is time for an investigation to start and for the Bank of Thailand to start freezing assets.
