Roadside treats get a lot more expensive

Written By Unknown on Monday, 26 November 2012 | 12:03

To discourage people from patronising roadside fried-banana vendors, whose presence has been blamed for traffic jams, Nanglueng Police Station will start fining people who buy the snacks Bt500 starting Tuesday.

The decision was made at a recent meeting of district officials, police and the owners of the six licensed fried-banana stalls in the area. Anyone catching someone in the act of buying or selling the illicit snacks on the street is encouraged to snap a picture of the offenders and mail it to pom_prap@hotmail.com or the Facebook page of Pom Prap Sattru Phai District Office. The pictures will be used as evidence so that the offenders can be slapped with a fine.
