The PCG were victorious on Saturday in the 30-over game, while the more social T20 game on Sunday was won by the ANZA team.
After winning the toss, the visitors strode out to face the accomplished PCG attack. The home team once again pulled off an excellent bowling and dedicated fielding display to limit the ANZA boys to 152 for 8 after the allotted 30 overs.
Sami Ullah was the pick of the bowlers (2 for 18). The PCG batting lineup showed once again why the Alan Cooke Ground (ACG) is gaining a reputation as 'The Island Fortress'. A beautiful inning of 98 runs by Neil Culpan guided his team to victory with 9 overs to spare.
In a rain affected game, the ANZA team, with assistance from some local players, made up for the previous day loss. The PCG set a target of 122 which was easily chased down by the Singaporeans.
The PCG would like to invite cricket lovers across the Island to the Jones Lang LaSalle Phuket Cricket league opening match this Sunday at 9am. With the defending champions Laguna taking on the Village, an entertaining cricket match is expected.
Recently, PCG held a memorial match and fund-raiser for Chris Hart who tragically died in traffic accident. The PCG committee would like to thank all those involved for their kind support in raising an incredible 137,400 baht.
