Microsoft (Thailand) announces the appointment of Haresh Khoobchandani as managing director of Microsoft (Thailand), effective immediately. Before joining Microsoft (Thailand), Khoobchandani had been chief operating officer for Microsoft (Indonesia).

He helped the subsidiary to achieve over 30 per cent growth. He has over 15 years of experience at Microsoft, including roles as chief marketing officer for the APAC Consumer Online Business. He also experienced as senior director across the Marketing Operations and Small and Mid-market Solutions Partners (SMSP) organizations in the Singapore and Malaysian subsidiaries.

Khoobchandani has proven experience in both the commercial and consumer businesses, and a strong track record in sales marketing.

The appointment follows the resignation of the former managing director Birathon Kasemsri Na Ayudhaya, who stepped down in order to prioritize his time to be with his family.

In his almost two years as managing director of the subsidiary, Birathon showed strong and vibrant leadership. Among other achievements, Birathon introduced the vision "We Make 70 Million Lives Better"; he led Microsoft (Thailand) to win the prestigious CSR award from the American Chamber of Commerce in Thailand for the BETTER project; he led customers, partners and employees to quick recovery after the flood crisis; he managed several successful campaigns - most recently, the Windows 8 launch.

Microsoft is confident that the company can maintain and further expand its strong position in the Thai market under Khoobchandani's leadership and the local Thai team.
