AOT airports shows improvement in traffic

The average air traffic volume at six airports under Airports of Thailand's supervision increased during July-September, being a reason driving the company's quarterly net profit by 193.47 per cent.



It reported Bt6.5 billion net profit in the quarter, an increase of Bt4.3 billion or 193.47 per cent.



In a statement to the Stock Exchange of Thailand, the airport operator said that the average volume of aircraft, passengers and cargo movements at all six airports including Suvarnabhumi Airport increased by 8.81 per cent, 7.87 per cent, and 2.31 per cent, respectively. This pushed the quarterly revenue from sales or services by 6.39 per cent to Bt30.47 billion from the same period last year.



AOT also reported Bt222.7 million foreign exchange gain due to the depreciation of Japanese yen against Thai baht, against loss of Bt1.5 billion in the same period last year.
