Blooming sunflowers in Saraburi

Written By Unknown on Friday 23 November 2012 | 23:12

Tomorrow, two popular festivals in Saraburi _ Blooming Sunflower Fields and Cowboy Night _ will be kick-started in cowboy style at the Dairy Farming Promotion Organisation of Thailand's headquarters in Muak Lek district.

Thailand International Balloon Festival is taking place again this weekend.

Watthanapong Phonimdaeng, director of the Tourism Authority of Thailand's Lop Buri office, which also oversees tourism in Saraburi, says November-December is the time when many fields in Saraburi's Muak Lek, Wang Muang and Phra Phutthabat districts are full of sunflower blossoms. The spectacular floral views provide ideal photo shoots.

It is hoped that the two festivals will attract a large number of tourists and generate income for the province and local people. Saraburi has good potential for various kinds of tourism, especially agro-tourism.

The opening of both festivals will feature cowboy shows, a cowgirl beauty pageant, a cowboy dance contest, horse agility shows, a caravan of motorcycles and sale of leatherwear.
