Thai Spring group needs a better name

I have a few comments on the Thai Spring movement, led by a retired police officer and a former senator.

First, the movement shows that its leaders can't think for themselves. I mean, if you want to name your movement, at least think of something fresh. You don't just copy the name "Arab Spring" and modify it to "Thai Spring."

Second, one of the movement founders said: "Those people have a plan to take over Thailand and change its administrative system." That is a very serious claim. I wish he were explicit. Who are "those people" and what change do they have in mind? You don't convince people with vagueness.

Third, the Arab Spring was a series of protests against tyrannical rulers across the Middle East and North Africa. Those people wanted an elected government. Ironically, we have one, a good one too, but there is a movement to topple it.

Finally, the Thai Spring movement reminds me of an Aesop's fable about the frogs who were choosy about their leader and ended up getting a stork. They deserve Field Marshall Sarit Thanarath.
