Newly-appointed Chinese Foreign Minister to officially visit Thailand on April 30

BANGKOK, 26 April 2013 (NNT) â€" The newly-appointed Foreign Minister of China is scheduled to make his first official visit to Thailand at the end of this month.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Surapong Tovichakchaikul said that he has, on Thursday, handed to Chinese Ambassador to Thailand Guan Mu an official letter of invitation for Foreign Minister Wang Yi.


The newly-appointed Chinese Foreign Minister will officially visit the country on April 30.


Mr. Surapong stated that, during his visit, Mr. Wang will hold a meeting with Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra to discuss the strategic partnership of Thailand and China, which is noted as a positive sign for both Thailand and ASEAN.


The Thai DPM added that he also raised with Ambassador Guan Thailand̢۪s wish to have Lin Bing panda stayed longer in Thailand while extending an invitation to the Chinese leader to the 2nd Asia-Pacific Water Summit during May 14-20.
