The first pictures of the Samsung Galaxy SIV Mini have leaked online, along with a list of specifications and features
Expected to launch in July as a smaller, more affordable alternative to the current Samsung flagship phone the Galaxy SIV, the SIV Mini will offer a 4.3-inch super AMOLED high-definition display and a dual-core processor. According to Sam Mobile it will also run the latest version of Android and, as well as looking exactly like its big brother but smaller, will offer many of the Samsung-specific features offered on the maxi version of the phone.
Samsung released a 'Mini' version of its last flagship phone, the Galaxy SIII, in November 2012, as a means of maintaining consumer interest in the brand in the run-up to the launch of its outright replacement. The SIV was only officially launched in March and is not expected to make it into consumers' hands until the end of April. Therefore it seems strange that the mini version is scheduled to roll out so soon afterwards -- a mere three months. However, Samsung has spent most of this year hinting that it has a huge range of products to launch in 2013 and that the Galaxy SIV was simply the first of many. As well as the Mini, the South Korean firm is also expected to launch a new premium phablet (the Galaxy Note III), a larger, low-cost phablet and a smartwatch before the end of 2013.
Sources at the Korea Times, Sam Mobile and Unwired View claim that the Galaxy Note III tablet will feature a full HD 5.9-inch display and will be officially unveiled in August.
