Activist calls for probe into court's Samak ruling

Written By Unknown on Monday, 25 March 2013 | 05:42

Pro-government activist Ruangkrai Leekitwattana will press the National Anti-Corruption Commission to probe if the Constitution Court had contravened the Criminal Code (Article 157) while issuing a ruling related to former PM Samak Sundaravej.

He said he would submit evidence, a video clip, featuring Constitution Court chairman Wasan Soypisudh commenting on the Samak case on April 5, 2011 and at a seminar.

Ruangkrai alleged he suspected the court did not follow the law in delivering the ruling on the Samak case - and he would request the NACC to decide if the ruling was invalid.

Wasan had earlier claimed there was a flaw in the ruling of the Samak case, in the format of its ruling and not its content.

He said the ruling was confusing, hard to understand and did not prioritize key topics but there was no flaw or deficiency in the content.
