YALA, 27 February 2013 (NNT) รข€" The daily incidents in the Deep South continue, with a bomb exploding on a house belonging to a Buddhist Thai family in Yala that has already relocated from the area.

Officials believed the bomb was buried at the premise on the night of February 23 and was originally intended for an explosion that would distract officials and lure them to the site. Fortunately the explosive went off, apparently by itself, when nobody was near. No casualties resulted from the explosion.

In the meantime, internal security units in the area are still warning against 5 suspected vehicles that may have been made into car bombs. Officials have received reports of a green Isuzu Dragon Eye pickup truck having entered Kapho district in Yala. The vehicle was used by insurgents in the attack on the base of Yala Task Force 12 on February 10, an incident that left 5 soldiers dead.

In Narathiwat province, suspected insurgents detonated a bomb on the side of the Phetkasem Road section in Tapoyo sub-district. The road links Narathiwat province with Pattani province. The explosion downed 2 electricity poles, but did not injure anyone. Officials assumed the instigators, by their action, were aiming to disrupt the growth of the local economy.
