Do you find harp music strangely compelling? Then mark your calendar for the Saturday after next and prepare for a festival called "Let's Sing, Let's Dance" which will take place on the afternoon of Feb 9 in the grounds of the Thailand Cultural Centre.

Violinist Thaweewet 'Paye' Srinarong will be one of the guest artists at the 'Harps Greatest Hits' concert on Feb 9.

The fun and games will culminate with a free concert that evening.

Presented by Tamnak Prathom Harp Centre, in collaboration with the Department of Cultural Promotion, the festival will start at 2pm with an exhibition showcasing harps of various sizes, including the legendary Chudadhuj harp.

This is a once-in-lifetime opportunity for everyone to try their hand at playing the harp under the guidance of students from Tamnak Prathom Harp Centre. The students and their teachers will later give a short concert entitled "Songs From Our School Books".

The highlight of the day's events should be "Harps Greatest Hits", a concert in the small hall of Thailand Cultural Centre that is scheduled to start at 7.30pm. It will feature many well-loved songs written for the harp as well as some new compositions. Special guests will include Thaweewet "Paye" Srinarong, who will act as compere and also perform a duo piece written for violin and harp by Piazzolla. Members of the Viemus Chamber Octet will also be giving their very first public performance on the harp that evening.

Admission to the festival is free of charge.
To reserve a seat at the concert, contact Tamnak Prathom Harp Centre on 02-261-4777/8 or the Thailand Cultural Centre on 02-247-0028 ext 4162.
