The Father Ray Foundation

A charity auction at dusit D2 baraquda pattaya raised some 65,000 baht for the Father Ray Children's Home.
Local and expat art aficionados bid on 15 lots painted by children residing at the Children's Home. Paintings of landscapes and animals were displayed alongside portraits. Once the auctioneer offered each canvas, it was just a matter of seconds before the prices soared.
The highest price–3,000 baht–was paid for a portrait of HM the King. The very surprised artist presented the portrait to its new owner.
Other young artists were equally surprised as they watched the crowd bidding on their work and seeing how many people were interested in, and how much they were bidding on, the pieces.
The 15 paintings raised a total of 35,000 baht, another 25,000 baht was donated by Bang-on Jansanthai of Sayama Travel, and a further 5,000 baht was donated by an American military man who was departing the hotel as the auction was about to start. The soldier was returning to Bagram Airbase in Afghanistan.
Father Peter Pattarapong, president of the Father Ray Foundation, gave the closing speech before young girls from the Father Ray Children's Home performed a traditional Thai dance. This was followed by the children singing Christmas carols.
