Finland might have given the world Nokia phones and Angry Birds, but eight artists are about to show Bangkok there is more to the Nordic country's creativity than that.

Contemporary Lithography from Finland will be on display on the 3rd and 4th floor of Bangkok Art and Culture Centre from tomorrow until Feb 3. The art centre is located on Pathumwan intersection and is open daily except Mondays from10amto 9pm. Call 02-214-6630/1.

Bangkok Art and Culture Centre is holding "Contemporary Lithography from Finland", an exhibition of 21st century art by a group from the land of saunas and snow.

On show are the latest works by Maija Albrecht, Kalle Berg, Matti Hintikka, Valpuri Kylmanen, Kuutti Lavonen, Tapani Mikkonen, Kaisu Sirvio and Miikka Vaskola, all of whom come from the Helsinki Litho lithography workshop.

They make their art independently, drawing on the traditions and potential of the lithography technique.

The exhibition also reflects the high, autonomous status of printmaking in contemporary art in Finland.
