PTT Plc, the country's largest oil conglomerate, reaffirmed on Friday that it will keep pump prices unchanged during the New Year holidays.
Sarun Rungkasiri, an executive vice-president at PTT, said his company would not raise or cut retail prices of fuel at its outlets nationwide during the New Year festive season.
PTT will also ensure sufficiency of oil supply to serve increasing demand of motorists travelling to hometown to celebrate the New Year festival, he added.
There will be no problem of fuel shortage in Mea Hong Son this year because PTT had sent its oil delivering trucks to standby its outlet in this northern province, said Mr Sarun.
The oil shortage occurred in Mae Hong Son during last year's New Year holidays because severe traffic congestion had blocked PTT's oil tankers from supplying fuel to its outlet in the province.
Bangchak president Anusorn Sangnimnuan last Thursday said his company will keep its retail prices unchanged until the holiday ends on Jan 4, even though the global oil prices would fluctuate very much over the period.
Mr Anusorn said the pump prices freezing is his firm's New Year present for all Thai people.
