Fat people should pay for their obesity!

Over some 40 years now everyone has ostracised smokers and, more importantly, added more and more tobacco taxes every time the medical profession is itself failing.

The claim has been, medically, that smoking is the main reason medical facilities are overloaded and costs are staggering. That being said The Lancet (The British Medical Journal) announced recently that obesity is the leading cause of disabilities causing diabetes, various infirmities, heart disease ,and stroke among a myriad of non communicable diseases (NCDs). Not many smokers on crutches, in wheelchairs or require an elevator to scale 2 floors. We also don't need wider doors, stronger furniture or, handhold wall supports in bathrooms, larger seats on planes, buses, etc.

The World Health Organisation is quoted as saying that NCDS are at epidemic proportions and "could break the (medical) bank", so I think "fatties" should be taxed at the point of sale of offending foods - a scale in front of every McDonald's cash register (price determined by weight), a surcharge for insurance and going to hospital and, public scorn, ("You gonna eat those fries fatty?" or similar), when viewed consuming calorie laden foods! You do, after all, make partially righteous but, nasty remarks to smoker's faces, cough for no reason, make us herd away from humanity and, generally, to the applause of others.

Time to place blame, and taxes, where more of each belong.

The defence rests!
