Get ready to dust off your big woolly jackets and rug up. The annual winter treat returns with the Overcoat Music Festival 2012 on Dec 9 at The Front by BN Farm in Khao Kho district of Phetchabun province.

The theme this year is "First Love Remember Love" and the festival will feature, among others, leading singers Toh Saksit, Tu Phopthorn, AF's Nat Sakdathorn, San and Patcha, as well as bands including 123 Soul, Watcharawalee, Friday, POP, Singular, Tattoo Colour, Better Weather, Mild, Lipta, ETC and 25 Hours _ who will be on hand to regale the audience with new songs and special shows. Also, there will be fun activities for visitors to join in with.

"After the overwhelming success of the previous two events, many Bangkokians and the people of Phetchabun and nearby provinces want the winter festival to be held in Khao Kho every year," deputy Phetchabun governor Supachai Iamsuwan said.

According to him, the event, the biggest music festival in the lower north of the country, highlights the cold-season beauty of Khao Kho, Phetchabun. The venue of the concert is surrounded by mountains clad in mist.

Some people call Khao Kho the "Switzerland of Thailand".

The weather there is cool all year round. In December, the mercury usually drops to 10C at night and sometimes to 5C or lower.

Therefore, spectators should bring along overcoats, hats and gloves to keep themselves warm during the day-long festival.

Tickets are now available at all Thai Ticket Major outlets for 1,300 baht.

The proceeds after deducting organising costs will be donated to the Phra Dabos Foundation.
