PSI steps into TV content production

Leading TV production house Workpoint Entertainment had formed a new joint venture with PSI Holdings, the country's largest manufacturer and trader of satellite-TV receivers, to operate satellite TV stations and related businesses.





The 50:50 joint venture firm with Bt100 million registered capital is called Freesize Broadcasting.



Workpoint Entertainment currently produces a number of TV programmes, ranging from kids show, game shows and variety shows, supplying to BEC's ThaiTV3, Royal Army's TV5, MCOT's Modernine TV. It also runs it own satellite TV channels under the same title. Meanwhile, PSI is the biggest satellite TV broadcasting platform following it claimed that over past 20 years, more than 10 million of its produced satellite dishes were sold.



Somporn Teerarochanapong, chief executive officer at PSI Holdings who is also a share holder of the new company said that Freesize Broadcasting would produce TV contents for its new three free-to-air satellite TV channels to launched early next year.
