Simon Makinson, vice-chairman of the European Asian Business Centre, told the "Thailand at a Glance" forum that the kingdom's location was attractive for companies to set up regional offices for markets in Myanmar and other countries in the sub-region.

The forum was part of a Belgian economic mission to Thailand.

Crown Prince Philippe and Princess Mathilde of Belgium took part in the forum, which included about 100 Belgian companies, while on their visit to Thailand. They were the second economic mission from Belgium to visit the kingdom since 2001.

The crown prince and princess met with Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra at Government House later on Monday to sign an action plan to foster ties between the two countries.
