The Meteorological Department Friday predicted that the temperature in the North of Thailand would drop by four to six degrees during Sunday to the New Year Day.
The department reasoned that a strong high-pressure mass from China would move down to cover the North of Thailand during the period, to cause the mercury to drop.
For the forecast from 6 am Friday to 6 am Saturday issued at 4 am, the department said the lowest temperatures on northern mountaintops would be around four to ten Celsius degrees and there would be frozen dews on some areas.
