Miss Wilada Inchat, Advisor to Pattaya Mayor; Mr.
Pathawath Pimsakul, a Board of Directors member from the Boat Club, Jomtien
Beach; and Mr.Pradith Homchuen, President of the Jomtien Beach Chair
Operators' Club, came together to discuss
Jomtien's development plan for tourism and the allocation of the umbrellas and
canvas beach chairs on the beach.
In her
speech, Miss Wilada stated that "cooperation with the Jomtien club has the goal
of developing beach attractions at Jomtien Beach. The club is especially keen
on insuring the cleanliness of the beach-chair zones. The agreed measures will
insure a good image for tourism; and the cooperation among agencies will result
in organizing these public areas in accordance with tourism policies set by the
province".
The new operators' rules will apply from
Pratamnak Road Soi 5 to the end of Jomtien Beach. There are currently 457 lots,
divided into five zones. Discussions took place about the cleanliness of the
area and services provided to the tourists. The new policies will be further
discussed over time.
